This course provides Texas real estate agents with a comprehensive understanding of how property taxes are calculated, applied, and impact real estate transactions. Agents will learn the roles of appraisal districts and taxing authorities, how tax rates and property values are determined, and how exemptions and caps affect taxable value. The course also addresses common challenges such as estimating property taxes, understanding overlapping taxing jurisdictions, and preparing buyers for changes after closing. Additionally, agents will gain insight into property tax protests and how to appropriately support clients while remaining within their scope of practice. This course is designed to improve accuracy in transaction guidance and help agents avoid common issues that can affect affordability and closing outcomes.

Per Person Fee: $20

Refund Policy: A full refund will be issued if notification is received 2 business days prior to the scheduled class, otherwise a $5 fee will be deducted from your refund. Partial refunds will NOT be issued if notification is not received by 12pm the business day before the scheduled class. 


Cancellation: If the instructor or provider cancels the course, a full refund will be issued.


Zoom Broadcast
This is an online course, via Zoom, in a virtual classroom setting. An internet connection, speakers, microphone and a webcam (either built-in or attached to your computer) are required to take the course. All classes will be in the virtual setting and should be in a location that is free from distractions.
